What is the Housing for Older Persons Act (HOPA)?
The Housing for Older Persons Act of 1995 describes housing intended and operated for occupancy by persons 55 years of age or older in which— (i) At least 80 percent of the occupied units are occupied by at least one person who is 55 years of age or older; (ii) The housing facility or community publishes and adheres to policies and procedures that demonstrate the intent required under this subparagraph; and (iii) The housing facility or community complies with rules issued by the Secretary of HUD for verification of occupant ages.

Yes. As a HOPA facility, The Crawford verifies the age of any potential owner or lessee to ensure compliance with HOPA. In addition, there is a minimum occupant age of 30 for leased units.
Are There Limitations on Leasing?
Yes. The Crawford limits leased units to no more than twenty percent (6) at any one time and will not allow owners to lease units in excess of this number.
